Yasaka-jinja Shrine

Yasaka Shrine was originally known as Gozu Tenno Shrine and has been worshipped as a guardian deity against illness since before the feudal era.It was renamed Yasaka Shrine in the Meiji period.Every June, Takko Kagura—a 400-year-old sacred dance tradition and an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Aomori Prefecture—is performed at the shrine.
