大牟田市出身の絵師作家、内田麟太郎さんの「おれたち、ともだち！」シリーズを始め、1,000点の原画を収蔵しています。それら原画のほか立体作品の展示、インスタレーション、絵本の世界観を広げるイベントやワークショップ、マルシェなどを行います。 また、動物園や市内のさまざまな場所へも積極的に出かけていき、絵本をきっかけにした人や施設間の交流を広げていきます。
