    Also called Eurystomus orientalis or Oriental dollarbird. It breeds in the eastern part of Eurasia and Australia and flew to Japan as a summer bird. Since it is a beatiful bird that can be seen in deep forests of temples and shirines, it has been cherished as a spiritual bird. Conservation Assessment is LC (Least Concern). In recent years, however, it has been declining nationwide, and it designated as an endangered species in the Red Data Book of the Ministory of Environment. Designated as a Miyoshi City Bird in 2014.
