Odori Moss phlox (Shiba-zakura) Festival

In the Kanoji settlement of the Odoori district in northern Shunan City, vibrant moss phlox blooms from April to May. The moss phlox was planted on weed suppression sheets laid across the terraced slopes within the district. This initiative creates beautiful scenery while protecting local agriculture. The 100,000 moss phlox plants cultivated in the terraced fields are maintained by local community members. Every year, many tourists visit to stroll among the colorful moss phlox. ※A donation of 300 yen per person as a greening cooperation fee is requested.
