(including accommodation) Consultation required ■ Hodo Hall An important cultural property of the Edo period, located in Myoshin-ji Temple. Built in 1656. In the place where priests perform Buddhist memorial services, only Sumidan is set up. It is even larger than the Buddhist temple, and it is further built into the Zen sect (Tang style). There is a picture of Unryu by Tannyu Kanou on the mirror ceiling inside. Always open to the public. Because of the ceremony, if you cannot see it, guide other cathedrals. ■ Butsuden An important cultural property of the Edo period, located in Myoshin-ji Temple. Tang-style architecture built in 1583 (1583) and rebuilt in 1827 (1827). Inside, a statue of Buddha and a statue of Anan and Kaha Ryoson are enshrined. You can worship ... not inside (closed at 15:00) ■ Mikado It is an important cultural property of Momoyama era architecture in Myoshin-ji Temple. It is also written as Sanmon. Built in 1599. It is a Tang-style building with a corridor on the left and right of the floor, and the front of the upper floor is a chakarato, and you can worship at the time of ceremony. (June 18 from 9:00 to 10:00) ■ Bathroom An important cultural property of the Edo period, located in Myoshin-ji Temple. Built in 1587 (1587), rebuilt in 1656 (1656). It is said that Mitsuhide Akechi's uncle, Kazuo Misune, built it for Mitsuhide's pursuit bodhi, and it is called "Akechi Bath". Inside is a steam bath and a washing area. ■ Imperial envoy gate It is an important cultural property of Momoyama era architecture in Myoshin-ji Temple. A four-legged gate facing Shimotachiuri-dori, built as a somon in 1610 (1610). ■ Bells with yellow bells It is a national treasure. It was cast in 698 (Bunmu 2) and the oldest temple bell in Japan, and is also written in Kenkou Yoshida's Essays in Idleness. Until 1973, it was hung on a bell tower in the precincts of Myoshin-ji Temple, but now it is enshrined in the Hodo for preservation, and now it is possible to hear beautiful sounds on CDs.
