Suehiro-jinja Shrine has been sitting as a Inari shrine since before 1596. Inari was worshipped as a guardian god at the time when there was Yoshiwara (Yoshihara), the first red-light district in the Edo period, around the area. The shrine was named "Suehiro-jinja" as Chukei (Suehiro fan), with a shape widening toward the end, considered to bring good luck was found in 1675 when the main hall was under renovation.
