The Hayashi residence was built in Meiji 22 as the home of Hayashi Yuzō, who served as the first governor of Kochi Prefecture and as the Minister of Communications and Minister of Agriculture and Commerce. It is a vast residential structure unique in Kochi Prefecture, prominently showcasing modern architectural styles based on traditional Japanese architecture, while also elegantly incorporating its distinctive political functions. Cultural renovations have preserved and restored its historical features, and modern renovations have been made to match its current usage, making it a new symbol of the city. 【Fee】 300 yen Admission free, but if occupying a room, a fee of 300 yen per room per hour is required.
