Mizusawa Park was established in 1878. The park has cherry trees belonging to the old Higan cherry tree group aged around 350 years which has been designated as a Natural Monument by Iwate Prefecture. Approximately 400 cherry trees bloom gorgeously in the middle of April. Lanterns are lit at night, making it be a suitable place for viewing the night cherry blossoms.
