70 maple trees that were planted in a row in 1934 to commemorate the opening the Akechi Line of what was then the Japanese Government Railways are still growing here. In autumn, the red leaves of those maple trees adorn the Akechi River and create a mystical atmosphere when the leaves are illuminated at night. Visitors can enjoy a history tour, including visiting sites related to Akechi Mitsuhide at Nihon Taisho-mura Village situated in the urban area of Akechi-cho.
