海上安全と大漁祈願の神事で、「シオマツリ」とも呼ばれ、館山市の無形民族文化財に指定されています。神前での祭典後、境内にある直径60cmくらいの大釜に煮立ったお湯を、白装束の神官役が笹で周囲の人たちに振りかけます。この湯を浴びると厄払いになることから、人々は競って釜の周りに集まり、振りかける人もずぶぬれになるほど遠くへ湯気を飛ばします。終了後は、各自手にしたタオルなどを釜の湯に浸し、持ち帰って家族の身体を拭いて無病息災を祈ります。
