This garden is a typical Daimyo garden in the Edo period with a tidal pond (Shioiri-no-Ike) and two wild-duck hunting sites (Kamoba). A tidal pond means a pond that is infused with seawater in order to change the flavor along a pond as the tide changes from time to time, the style of which had been popularly used in coastal gardens in the Edo period. In November 1952, this garden was appointed as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a Special Historic Site. Scenery of each season such as field mustard and cherry blossoms in spring and colored leaves in autumn can be viewed in the garden.
