An ancient temple located in the plains on the eastern shore of Lake Yamanaka. Because this area marks the border between Suruga and Sagami provinces, it flourished during the Warring States period when Takeda Shingen designated it as a place of prayer for border defense. The approach lined with stone lanterns and the old bell tower exude an air of distinction, and behind the temple is the grave of Miura Tamaki, who was famous as an international prima donna. Sect: Rinzai School, Myoshinji branch of Zen Buddhism. Year of establishment: 1561.
