Each spring, Yamaguchi's Ichinosaka River comes alive with cherry blossoms, offering one of the most besatiful sights of the season. Ichinosaka　River is said to have been modeled after the Kamo River when the town of Yamaguchi was designed in imitation of Kyoto during the Muromachi period. Today, around 200 Somei Yoshino cherry trees line the banks beautifully lit at night during the blooming period. Take a leisurely walk along the river, admire the view, and discover local shops set in carefully restored traditional townhouses.
