Rokugasako Hot Spring Source Tawaraya Ryokan Koto Shirasagikan

Rokugasako Onsen that is said to open in Edo Kanei 3 (1750) is a well-known hot spring that was dedicated to the lord of Usuki and has been loved by the people due to its "remarkable efficacy". It is claimed as "gastrointestinal water" when you drink it and "beautiful water" when you soak in it. Brown-colored hot water flows out spontaneously from its source to fill the bathtub. Bathing in the cypress bathtub filled warm water (38 °C) will warm up the core temperature of your body. Continue by going into an infrared sauna for 1-2 minutes to open up your skin pores, and then get into to a source spring cold bath (22 °C), then back into a hot water bath (42 °C). Otherwise, you can always use it as you like. Repeating the hot and cold cycle of alternate bathing is recommended, and many visitors come to stay for 3 to 10 days. If you want to get the most benefit from the drinkable spring water, you will need to allocate a certain period of "narashi", during which you will also have specific menu to refresh yourself.
