The king of Fukui’s winter delicacies, Echizen Crab, officially goes on sale when the fishing season opens on November 6 each year.
To celebrate the opening of the season, the Mikuni Minato Crab Festival will be held in Mikuni Minato.
Enjoy freshly landed crabs gathered in Mikuni Minato, along with local culture and gourmet foods. We warmly invite everyone to come and experience this special festival!
The Highlight: Echizen Crab!
Freshly caught Echizen Crabs, available immediately after the season opens, will be sold by local fishmongers at special festival prices.
Don't miss this opportunity to purchase and enjoy premium, freshly landed Echizen Crab.
In addition to crab, visitors can enjoy a Fresh Catch Market, featuring a variety of seasonal seafood and local specialties.
Famous Crab Soup Featuring a Whole Seiko Crab
A festival favorite, our hot crab miso soup contains one whole Seiko Crab (female snow crab) freshly landed at Mikuni Port.
A total of 2,500 servings will be available over the two-day festival.
Treat yourself to this luxurious local delicacy and savor the rich flavor of Fukui’s famous winter seafood.
