Tojinbo

Tojinbo, a nationally designated scenic spot, is known for its view of the rough waves of the Sea of Japan crashing against its cliffs. The dramatic cliffs stretch for approximately one kilometer. The extensive dacite columnar joints that create this landscape are said to be one of only three in the world, making it a geologically precious site (one of the world's three most beautiful places). The dazzling blue sky and the Sea of Japan in early summer, the sunset as the sun sinks over the Sea of Japan in autumn, and the rough waves and cold winds blowing against the rocks as snow falls—all of these are magnificent seasonal views that the natural beauty of Tojinbo and the Sea of Japan offers. Along with Oshima Island, which floats at the tip of Tojinbo, it has been designated a natural monument of Japan. There are plenty of traditional souvenir shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. There's also Tojinbo Tower, which offers views all the way to the Noto Peninsula, so there are plenty of ways to enjoy the area.
