Zenpu-ji Temple

■ Garden The precincts of Zenpu-ji Temple are about 30,000 tsubo, and you can enjoy the seasonal flowers. Cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangea in summer, and Akiakigiku in autumn. The autumn leaves from November are particularly beautiful. The view from the precincts is the best in Kyoto, and from Kaizan-do, Shakado, and Yakushi-do, you can see the city of Kyoto. ■ Yuryu no matsu Goyomatsu of the pine family located in the precincts of Zenpu-ji Temple. It spreads out in front of Tahoto pagoda and Kyodo. "Yuryu no Matsu" refers to the fact that the trunk extends long to the left and right and looks like a dragon. The height of Yuryu pine here is only 2-3m, but the trunk extending to the left and right is more than 37m. It has been famous for a long time, and Rengetsu Otagaki says, "I think about the old age of the Tamamatsu of Zenmine, which is shining through the world." Designated as a national natural monument. ■ Monju-ji Temple Hokan Approximately 120 works are exhibited from about 1,200 items, including Buddha statues and paintings and crafts, and items related to Katsura Shoin, the mother of the fifth Tokugawa shogun Yoshio Tsuna Yoshio, including the important cultural property. ※ At the time of special release ■ Zenmineimasu Zenseki It is said that MINAMOTO no Shonin appeared at a festival where MINAMOTO no Shonin opened the mountain, and MINAMOTO no Shonin made zazen on this rock to dispel the demon. It is located on the south side of the middle of the mountain path along the approach road from the foot of the mountain to the Nio-mon gate.
