The festival is said to have originated from a rain-asking ritual that began during the Wadō era. Dancers, dressed in hunting clothes, traditional garments, and white tabi socks, elegantly perform the "Izumo Furyū Flower Dance," accompanied by the sounds of small drums and flutes, while adorned with flower hats decorated with seasonal blooms. It has been registered as an intangible folk cultural asset of Kyoto Prefecture.
