Izumo Daijingu, whose shrine rock is believed to have divine power to attract good fortune in love, draws worshippers from all over Japan. The spring water, Manai-no-Mizu, welling from the sacred Mount Mikage and Meotoiwa (pair of rocks representing spouses), where worshippers tie red threads for amulets, are said to help find a good marriage partner. The honden worship hall is designated an important cultural property.
