Autumn Otsuka Rose Festival

Along the Toden Tram line from Otsuka to Mukohara, as well as in the shopping street centered around TRAM Pal Otsuka Square, approximately 710 varieties and 1,210 rose bushes bloom in full splendor. The rose varieties are among the finest in Tokyo, and the view of the roses from the train is very beautiful, making it an excellent spot for photography. The 'Rose Road,' which has about 710 varieties and 1,210 rose bushes planted both from Japan and abroad, is carefully maintained by a local residents' group called the 'Minami Otsuka Tobu Tram Line Association.' Usually, most roses bloom only once a year ('once-blooming'), but the roses along 'Rose Road' include some that bloom in all seasons. This is because the members of the association want local residents to enjoy a rose-filled walking path for as long a period as possible.
