Cobalt blue and mystic Umi Jigoku (or Sea Hell) is like a calm ocean from the looks of it but is actually a 98°C/209°F hot spring of hell. The Sea Hell was created as a result of Mt. Tsurumi volcanic eruption from 1,200 years ago. Adjacent food vendor features Jigoku onsen-boiled eggs, Jigoku-Mushi steamed custard pudding, and other gourmet items. It also offers Victoria amazonica leaf riding for children during the summer vacation season in August, as the leaves grow tremendously large due to the area geothermal energy.
