The origin of the name is "Masui-chise"(House of Black-tailed Gulls), and it was so named because there were many black-tailed gulls nesting here. Neaby, there are Candle Rock, a row of Seagull Rocks, and a rock formation called "Elephant Rock" that looks just like a lying elephant. The panoramic view of Mt.komagatake across Funka Bay is also a sight to behold, and it is one of the Eight Views of Muroran. In 1959, large ruins were discovered on this beach, suggesting that the indigenous people lived a carefree hunting life in this cove. On january 24, 2012, Masuichi Beach was designated as a national scenic spot as the "Pirikanoka Etomo Peninsula outer Coast". Cultural Property Nationally Designated Scenic Spot Designated in 2012
