    A Good Thing is Kamameshi Day Back in the Showa period (1926-1989), when Tsubame's western tableware industry was thriving, kamameshi was expensive and not yet a common dish for the general public. It was served by company presidents and their families for business entertainment or to eat by themselves. Against this backdrop, the owners of restaurants in the city made efforts to popularize kamameshi so that ordinary people could enjoy it comfortably, and as a result, the number of restaurants serving it spread throughout the city.
