    The Ohkouzu Diversion Channel., the guardian deity of the Echigo Plain The Ohkouzu Museum, built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the renovation of the Shinano River, displays materials on the history of the Shinano River and the Ohkouzuzu Diversion, and can be used as a place for comprehensive learning. The observation room on the fourth floor overlooks the magnificent Shinano River and the Ohkouzu Diversion, and numerous water birds, including swans, can be seen. The area around the museum is maintained as a park, where visitors can enjoy playing in the water through a hands-on waterway and a fishway observation room where they can observe fish swimming in the water. In the fall, you may be able to see the salmon running up the Shinano River! Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Closed/Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a national holiday), Year-end and New Year holidays.
