The Tsubame City Summer Festival is one of the city's most popular summer festivals, including the “Hitotsubame Summer Festival,” which features a lively mikoshi (portable shrine) with 1,000 Tsubame people. At the “Bunsui Festival,” a bunsui mikoshi (portable shrine) parades down Jizodo Honmachi Street, and bunsui taiko drums featuring the legendary “Shuten Doji” (a demon of legend) perform a heroic performance. Don't miss the minyo nagashi and the yosakoi soran performed by school children. It is said that enjoying the festival together is a way to make offerings to the dead. In the evening, an unusual Bon dance festival in costume begins. The festival will be filled with even more enthusiasm.
