Introducing the art of Yoshihiro Ryokan at his peak of maturity This museum preserves the footsteps of Ryokan, a Zen monk who loved nature, people, and art. Ryohiro wrote numerous poems and calligraphies with his boundless and generous love of humanity and high artistry, which have captured and fascinated the hearts of many people today. The museum exhibits ink drawings and other related materials from his hermitage period at Gogo-an and Otoko Shrine, with particular attention paid to masterpieces passed down through the Kaira and Abe families, with whom he had close ties in his later years.
