    Magnificent nature loved by Ryokan-sama The summit of the mountain is 313 meters above sea level. The summit commands a panoramic view of the watershed area and the Okawazu watershed, On clear days, Sado Island and the Noto Peninsula can be seen from the summit. The beech forest that inhabits Kokushoji Temple, the oldest and most famous temple in the prefecture, is located halfway up the mountain. It is designated as a natural monument of the prefecture. In early summer, fireflies can be seen dancing in the night sky at the foot of Mt. Genji fireflies can be seen until late June, and after that, Heike fireflies can be seen until early July. The recommended viewing time is from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitors can also enjoy the autumn foliage at the Asahiyama observatory in the middle of Kunikami Mountain, along the promenade, and near the summit. The beautiful autumn leaves color the historic site associated with Ryokan and calm the mind.
