Kunikami is a small mountain at 313 meters above sea level, but from its summit you can see the Echigo Plain and Ohkouzu Diversion Channel, and on clear days you can even see Sado Island and the Noto Peninsula. Climbing courses are available for beginners as well as advanced climbers, and are recommended for casual trekking and health. A ceremony and prayer for climbers' safety will be held in front of “Roadside Station Kunigami” located at the foot of Mt. Kunigami, coinciding with the best time to see the early spring flowers and grasses. On the same day, “ Mt. Kunigami Eco Trekking Tour” (limited capacity) will be held, where visitors can experience the joy of observing nature in the satoyama in early spring while taking a leisurely stroll with a guide.
